Old Dog matches geometry, material, tolerance, quantity and documentation requirements to the right manufacturing process and supplier capability — then reviews the drawing before anything gets quoted.
An idea, a partial file, a finished drawing, or an existing quote — choose the closest starting point.
Everything below — processes, materials, tolerances, finishing, inspection and applications — is reference. If you already know which path you want, start above and we will work through the detail with you.
Open a process for the detail. Most parts land in one of these three; a lot of parts use two.
Selected suppliers support close-tolerance features after manufacturability review.
Not an exhaustive guarantee — a starting point. Unusual alloys and specialty polymers are reviewed case by case.
Commonly supported materials include the grades above. Availability, stock form and machinability are confirmed during RFQ review — if you have a preferred alloy, grade or supplier spec, send it and we will work to it.
FULL MATERIALS GUIDEHonest numbers matter more than impressive ones. These are the ranges to design around.
Tighter work is possible but depends on geometry, process and material — it is confirmed feature by feature, not applied as a blanket tolerance. GD&T is reviewed against the drawing and the intended process, and we will tell you where a callout is driving cost without adding function.
Finishing and heat treatment are coordinated as part of the part. Tell us the requirement or the spec and we will route it.
Inspection scope is set by what the part has to do — and by what the drawing asks for.
Supplier certification options are available where applicable. Certification and reporting scope depends on the selected supplier and is confirmed during RFQ review.
The right process for five parts is rarely the right process for five thousand. We re-evaluate as demand changes.
Send it over. We will figure out how it gets made.
Send the drawing, CAD model, material, quantity and critical requirements. We will evaluate the part and determine the right manufacturing path.
